Abdominal sagging and loose skin is a very common problem especially in women after pregnancy or drastic weight loss. Drooping and loose skin can be corrected with a procedure that removes the skin from the lower abdominal area. Abdominoplasty is a very common surgery and our surgeons have many years of experience and skill in the procedure.
Operation:
In abdominoplasty, a piece of skin is surgically cut out of the lower abdominal area, any excess skin disappears. The skin is then tightened so that the abdomen becomes firm and fine. The scar is placed on the bikini line so that a minimal mark remains visible. After this, the skin is firm and supple.
Sometimes abdominoplasty is also used to tighten the abdominal muscles if they have also become loose, for example as a result of pregnancy or sudden weight gain. If the patient has excess fat in the abdominal area, it is very common for abdominoplasty to also include abdominal liposuction for optimal results.
Abdominoplasty is performed under anesthesia. The procedure takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes and usually you can go home from the clinic for the same evening. All abdominoplasty procedures are performed by an experienced plastic surgeon who specializes in this procedure.
Result of the operation
The end result is natural and aesthetically pleasing. After the procedure, the abdomen is firm and the skin is smooth and supple. The scar from the procedure is placed on the bikini line, and is thus almost invisible.
Pre – procedure consultation
The consultation before the procedure at our clinic is recommended. An abdominoplasty consultation can be done based on pictures sent via email if you live far away and have difficulty to access to any of our clinics. The operation after the consultation will be performed within 2-4 weeks after the consultation.
Safe operation
Abdominoplasty is a safe procedure and the results are very good. After the procedure, there is pain and tenderness, especially in the first days, but after the procedure, you can quickly return to normal daily routines such as work. During the first few weeks, heavy lifting and other strain works should be avoided so as not to interfere with healing.
