There may have been changes in the breasts due to pregnancy, breastfeeding, age, or cancer surgery. Asymmetrical, deformed and small breasts can also be shaped to the desired shape.

Breasts have traditionally been enlarged with the help of silicone implants. Fat transfer to the breast is a safer procedure than implant surgery. Therefore, fat transfer is more popular than shaping (styling) with silicone implants. Fat transfer is also an appropriate method when the wish is to have fuller, natural-feeling and soft breasts. In addition, fat transfer can be used to correct breast asymmetry, narrows the space between the breasts and replace implants that you want to remove.
Normally, even a single fat transfer is enough to achieve the desired result.
If larger changes in the breasts are desired, two procedures are usually required. The amount of fat transfer is affected by, for example, the current shape and size of the breasts and the quality of the tissues. Consultation before the procedure
Before the procedure, we recommend a consultation at our clinic in Helsinki, Tampere, Turku or Oulu. At a consultation on the fat transfer procedure in the plastic surgery center, our plastic surgeon will provide an in-depth look at the details of the procedure. In this case, you can also ask any questions you want. At the consultation, you will see the results of before and after the similar procedures and get a chance to see the state of art of our clinic. In connection with the consultation, you will receive accurate price for the procedure.
Laboratory tests, mammography or other examinations are performed, if necessary, prior to the procedure, if our surgeon wishes these tests.
If you are unable to come to our clinic for consultation, the consultation can be carried out based on the pictures of the breasts/body sended to our email for photo consultation. The e-mail should also include name, contact information, age, height, weight, state of health, medication, possible smoking and previous possible surgeries. Our surgeon can then make an assessment of the procedure and contact the client via email or phone.
Safety of the procedure
The procedure is really safe and complications are very rare. Safety is based on the professionalism, gentleness, modern method and high level of hygiene and sterility of our operating room. Usually, the fat transfer to the breasts is performed under anesthesia. Small amount of fat transfers can also be done under local anesthesia. During the consultation, our plastic surgeon will tell you which method is right for you.
Fat is transferred to the breasts from, for example, waists, abdomen or thighs. A very small hole is made in the skin of the liposuction area, through which the fat is gently collected with a thin cannula.
The procedure includes 3 stages:
Precise design
First, our plastic surgeon draws and plans the procedure carefully, after which pictures of the body areas to be treated will be taken.
Gentle liposuction and fat collection
Gentle water jet vacuuming is applied to the desired areas. The fat is collected through a filter in a special tank. For a small transfer, fat is collected for a few deci and a little more for a larger fat transfer. Small impulses of water coming from the tip of the cannula gently remove the grease, after which the grease is sucked into the reservoir.

Fat transfer
The collected fat is transferred to special injections. In connection with fat transfer, 1-2 small holes (approx. 2 mm) are made in the breast in as inconspicuous places as possible under / next to the breast or in the nipple yard. The fat is injected with a thin cannula, using a special device, densely and evenly into the subcutaneous fat of the breast and under the mammary gland. Finally, the small holes are closed with fusible suture. Typical amounts for fat transfer are about 250-550 ml / breast. The volume and shape of the breast change immediately during the procedure.
The procedure normally takes about 2 hours, including liposuction and fat transfer.
Body design conveniently in the same procedure
If you want or have considered shaping of the body, we can do body shaping in connection with breast fat transfer procedure. The usual liposuction areas are the abdomen, waists, sides, thighs, double chin, back folds, upper arms, etc. In the same procedure, do you want a slim waist, streamlined thighs, get rid of unwanted fat accumulation? In body shaping, it is possible to remove several liters of excess fat.
Fast recovery
Fat transfer usually recovers within a few weeks. Most of the swelling disappears in the third week and the final result can be estimated after about 3-4 months, when a post-examination is performed. Light exercise is possible the next day, hard training should be avoided for 3 weeks. Usually there is tenderness in the treated areas for 7-14 days. The duration of sick leave is usually 1 to 7 days. Breastfeeding is not affected by fat transfer. The fat that settles and sticks to the chest is alive and permanent. The procedure is very safe in both the short and long term.
At the point of the fat intake, it becomes a thin and light pressure fabric that is used for about 2-4 weeks. After the procedure, the client can leave to home on the same day after 4-6 hours of rest.
Before the anesthesia procedure, do not eat or drink for 8 hours. Smoking is strictly forbidden 4 weeks completely before the procedure and 4 weeks after the procedure. Smoking significantly increases the risk of complications.
