What happens in laser treatments?
The light from the laser device finds the dark hair follicle and destroys it. At the time of treatment, the hair follicles in the active phase are destroyed, in which case the current hair growth always stops. Thus significant hair thinning occurs from the very first treatment. The hair grows out dead as the skin regenerates at its own rate, within about two weeks from the procedure.
During the treatment, the skin is cooled with a cold air blower to make the operation pleasant. There may be a slight tingling in the operating area. The length of one treatment is from half an hour to two hours, depending on the size of the area to be treated. As an aftercare, skin regeneration can be enhanced for two weeks after the procedure by exfoliating and shaving the skin and thus releasing the dead hair follicle from under skin.
Generally, treatments are needed on average about 6-12 times. The final number of treatments depends on the number of existing hairs and hair follicles. There is a treatment break about 8-12 weeks between visits, depending on the growth activity of the hair follicles. Treatment intervals are extended as hair growth becomes thinner. The treatment is performed with DEKA Alexandrite or Nd-yag lasers, which represent a unique, new generation of laser technology.
